Capture the unique spirit of your dog or cat with photos that show emotion and action!

Professional pet photographer specializing in outdoor settings for sessions in the Washington-VA-MD metro area

We had a wonderful experience with Julie! Her ability to photograph our sweet 2-year old dog was amazing. She was well equipped with treats, toys, and noisemakers, which made our whole family laugh. She captured genuine smiles from all of us!

Why Bright Eyes?

My first sheltie, Mickey, looked at me with Bright Eyes.  I had 14 years of memories of that dog that I captured on film!

All of my dogs have had Bright Eyes. It’s how we’ve bonded with each other. Dogs are the most keen observers of humans and true companions as we travel through life.

Photographs preserve those memories.  That’s why when I had the chance to start my own business I choose to combine my two passions of animals and photography!  My style is documentary and journalistic as you’ll see in exploring my website.  My session packages are diverse and affordable.  And the goal is to bring out the joy and spirit of your pet while having fun! My approach is on location—I come to you—using natural light.

“Jax is a very shy and particular fellow and he knows a friend when he sniffs one. Julie was an immediate friend and in our photo shoot, she captured the happy and playful Jax that loves his people! Julie’s love of animals and pure joy in her work makes her the BEST pet photographer you could find.”

Bleubell, who's my 2-year old Sheltie, visited Washington DC's Tidal Basin at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial with me at Peak Bloom! She was modeling for me for my cherry blossom client photo sessions. Our first stop was Stumpy, a hollow cherry tree experiencing its last peak bloom, known as the 'Little Cherry Tree that Could' because it has survived 25 years already but the now constant high tide floodings have marked Stumpy and 300 other cherry trees for the chopping block as the Park Service rebuilds the crumbling walls. We took some more photos facing the Washington Monument. See some of the many faces of my dog Hermanito! This 4-year old Sheltie knows how to run his brothers and sister into the ground. Instead of a white blaze all down his nose, he has a white spot of fur on his back. I say he’s been kissed by an angel! He barks at car chasing scenes on TV, teaches his sister questionable things every day such as eating the azalea buds and makes humans work for a tail wag!
